I love this flashback to the girls’ first day at camp so much. I also adore getting to know more about them and who their families are.
Loved seeing Ripley insecure about going to camp and saying goodbye to her family. Her way chaotic family. Of course, she gets gum in her hair, and of course, April volunteers for a makeover that may also involve blue dye.
Mr. Sparkles getting stolen by Bubbles was too perfect. Yay for the origin story of Bubbles and how Molly just didn’t show up at camp with him.
Even on the first day, how much Jen delights in her new campers was wonderful.
Jo’s overprotective dads are amazing. I love her slight embarrassment by them and their warmth.
Mal showing up in a cab is too her. And her first meeting with Molly was too cute and smitten at first sight. Oh, Lumberjanes, you continue to be so adorable.

I love how the Scouting Lads took all the kittens. They are probably much better at taking care of them. Marigold and her little sweater were so adorable. I love that the Lumberjanes refilled on cookies and all got sweaters from the Scouting Lads. Though Jo is definitely jealous of Barney and how much April enjoys being around him.
There’s always a blizzard in the middle of summer when you’re camping, no matter how hot is it outside during the day. I love Jen stating a point about how they do need to learn survival skills in order to willy-nilly their way in the forest. And no one ever knows how to put a tent together on first try.
Abigail is certainly an interesting woman. Of varied hobbies. Some of which may be very scary. I can’t tell if she either desperately wants a friend or is hitting on Jen. But good call on distracting Jen from the room full of dynamite with a library. I’d also fall for that one.
Jo trying to call her dads on her satellite phone was also cute. Of course, it never works when you need it. Magical interference.

Jen is 100% correct that Rosie’s secrets are putting everyone’s lives in dangers, including the Lumberjanes. I’m going to guess that the original purpose of the Lumberjanes was to train monster hunters — or perhaps people with the skills to stop magical mayhem from happening. And no one got a choice on how far to take it.
I think I’d stay in Abigail’s library forever. It would be very tempting.
I’d did appreciate that Rosie admitted she was wrong and made an honest attempt to bring Abigail back to the fold.
But is Abigail going after the Bear Woman?
Poor Jo and also poor Barney. April is way too distracted by her emotions for Barney and worry about Jen and being dramatic to notice Jo’s feelings are being hurt.
