I’m really glad Patsy was only in hell for one issue. This would’ve separated her from the world we’ve so much enjoyed having her in. Especially the fun cast of characters in her life. No one wants to see their evil versions.

Yay for Tom and Ian finally getting together! I love the kiss up kick and the call out to romantic movies.

Williams’ art in the high school throwback scenes was fabulous. As much as I do enjoy Leth’s story, Williams’ art really pushes this book from enjoyable and good to great. Her pencils have style and flair, and they change as needed to fit the mood of each story part. Love them.

Jubilee is a fun addition to this story. I appreciated her telling Buzz that if Patsy did have a potion to make people human again, she’d certainly use it on Jubilee.

This is another cute comic, but it’s not pushing my buttons like previous issues. Even with all the cat shenanigans!

I’m not sure why Black Cat would go after Hellcat in particular. Though small world that Zoe, Ian’s ex-girlfriend, is working for her as one of the Black Cats. (I loved the moment when Zoe accused Patsy of dating him, and she immediately launched into how they were just roommates. I do that. We get so few bisexual characters in media, and so often, they have to date their roommates or fall in love with their best friends. I adore the platonic nature of Ian and Patsy’s relationship.)

I do think that having a character like Ian speaking out about how he doesn’t want to use his powers to fight evil (or be evil) works well.

I get why Jubilee walked off with Bailey kid to further the plot where Bailey gets kidnapped by Black Cat, but it was a little odd when you knew Bailey’s the mom. I had a continuity error moment.

Black Cat really needs to get a summer version of her costume. Given what all the other characters are wearing, she’d be rather hot and sweaty.

Everyone, except Black Cat herself, seems really ill-prepared in this issue. I suppose the setup is that Patsy and company lose for a little bit. And Ian has the emotional excuse of being off his game with his ex-girlfriend showing up.

Was that Bailey being evil in the last scene? I’m so confused why she would switch teams all of the sudden?

I loved Patsy laying down the law of emotional boundaries with Ian. It felt true to their relationship, and this book’s take on caring for your community.

Jubilee is correct that Ian has a great costume. Though I don’t think I’ll ever get used to Jubilee’s cloud vampire appearances.

(This is also a weird point story-wise to cut off for a trade. Maybe Patsy was originally supposed to be a bigger part of Civil War II?)
