Okay, I completely did not get that Ginny could only do the revenge that people called her for until Sissy burnt the binder. Not until I read the recap at the front of the issue. This was likely me missing something, but it kind of threw me off. And made me think that perhaps the binder was burnt too quickly before we could learn when Ginny was doing with her life (unlife?).

So Molly sees herself as a human and Johnny as a Coyote? Does everyone have an animal double? Interested to see what Death did to Molly.

Obviously, the flood didn’t kill everyone. Because that wouldn’t make a very good story. Now everyone’s just wet. I’d have a seriously hankering for a bath at this point.

Glad to see that Big Alice isn’t entirely out of the game. I love how beautiful Rios’ art is as the butterflies that create Big Alice go down to the underworld.

Interesting to see that Mason and Ginny make some kind of peace to save the world. Are they saving the world from a beast? Are they saving it from what Sissy might become? Or just Death’s anger at Ginny disobeying him? Are we going to be training Sissy to become some kind of warrior princess? I have a lot of questions, and I’ll keep reading Pretty Deadly for sure.

This book is just very satisfying to read. It has gorgeous art and a wonderful story I can just immerse myself into. It’s a book that I have to use all my brain cells to read.

I adored that it ended with Sissy and Ginny fighting together, and that Ginny gave up everything she knew so Sissy could take over Death’s mantel. I love the twist that Death was so afraid of his own demise that he sent Mason to kill Sissy. I couldn’t image the first arc ending any other way.

I also adored the reveal that Butterfly and Bones Bunny were in this afterlife the entire time.

I can’t wait for more tales of Deathface Ginny and what she’ll do now that Sissy’s in charge. I hope that Sarah being left on Earth means we’ll have more Sarah. I also can’t wait to see how Big Alice will be utilized, same with Molly the Raven. This is a lovely, weird tale.

Watch how Sissy becomes more and buy Pretty Deadly Volume 1.
