I don’t know if I’m liking North’s Scott Lang. He reminds me a little too much of the movie version, who I hated, compared to the comic book version that I’ve usually read with him and his daughter.
I did find it funny how Scott noticed he was in Canada: milk in bags, maple leaves, black squirrels, and excess hockey sticks. Best.
Also Doreen teaching Scott how to row. While creepy lone Enigmo follows them around. Probably because he wants to rebel against himself. Never go back, loner.
Doreen’s lecture to Scott about how he shouldn’t mind control ants was the best. She is friends with squirrels. She speaks squirrel, and she teaches other people how to communicate with them. This is why Doreen has her own series, and Ant-Man just has a dumb movie I didn’t like.
Looking forward to the heist team next issue. Going to be awesome.

Of course, Enigmo taking over the world was stopped by applied physics and kindness. This is exactly what always happens in Squirrel Girl. Being in Canada even took Doreen away from saying that she “eats nuts and kicks butts.” Too aggressively American.
Ant-Man continues to be the worst. The very worst. I’m 100% okay that he’s going home and won’t be in the next issue. Also, that he wasn’t the one who figured out the solution, despite mocking Squirrel Girl for her ideas. They were great ideas! And they saved the world!
The Canadian billboards were hilarious. I just died while reading them.
Same with the physics professor who believes that every single lecture of his will save the world. And even if this one did, Nancy and Doreen won’t spill the beans.
And the Canadian versions of action figures. Hilarious. So hilarious.
I do love the story about Enigmo’s life. How he was homeless and bitter about the world. But how his one aspect learned about the world and found kindness in people. It’s a strong reminder of how important it is that we take care of each other. And if you don’t believe me, read some Canadian billboards.

In this pretty dang cute issue, the entire story centers around Nancy’s cat Mew and is from her point-of-view. And how she saves the day. It was adorable and fun, but it didn’t blow me away.
I liked the “responsibility for your human” tone set by Mew waking up Nancy in time to go fight crime with Squirrel Girl. Same with Mew’s job to hunt mice.
The dream sequences and Gorman’s art in them were probably the weakest parts of the book. I’m not sure how much they actually added. Except perhaps the dream at the end where Mew and the mouse take on tiny Taskmaster.
Mew taking on Pizza Dog to steal the anchovy pizza from him was pretty much the best. Also that later they teamed up and became pals. I definitely had at least one cat who befriended the dog, and yes, would let the dog lick him.
Using her tail is an interesting way for Doreen to take down Taskmaster. I did find it funny that he assumed the heroes sent the pets after him.
Of course, Doreen and Nancy are fixing their own walls. Like bosses (or poor college students).
