Now we know that Veil is a succubus and that explains a lot about why all the men in the story have wanted to have sex with her. And explains that first nude step into the world. Except Dante, who the Satan rat (since she came from hell, I’m going to assume that rat is Satan) said was pure of heart.

Cormac continues to be a straight up bastard. This book’s going to be too short to give him any more dimension than that. He’s definitely one of those characters who you won’t mind when they end up dead.

More gore. Though I’m really not sure how Veil was able to kill those men, but then not leave her circle afterward. Sure, some of them came in the circle, but if the circle stops her, shouldn’t it stop her powers?

Unsurprised that Tim is dead. No one is sad about that. Loved the image of Veil flying away with the broken windows from her body and wings.

Hoping that Veil and Dante will work together in order to free her. Was surprised as hell when he shot and killed Satan rat, declaring Satan just another pimp.

I really hope that Dante lived (even with the heavy-handed name of his). I love that he handed back Veil her chains to break even though he was dying. Love stories with strong friendships.

Fejzula’s art is fantastic. I want to read other books by him, especially if he’s also coloring them as well. The evolution in Veil’s look was fabulous as she gathers her chains at the crime scene and blends in with the cops.

I couldn’t done without the almost rape scene with Cormac. Sure, I suppose you can’t have a succubus plot without sexual desires. But Cormac was already a jerk, we didn’t need more reinforcement. While it wasn’t done for exploitation, still not a fan.

Satan rat confirmed. I love how Veil stood up to him right at the end and dared him to take her back to hell.

This was definitely a weird little story. Dive into it and buy Veil.
